We are excited for you to meet the newest members of our team - Dr. Joyce Giovannelli and Dr. Tanisha Knighton.
Dr. Giovannelli is a clinical and developmental psychologist who has been in practice for more than fifteen years. Because of her joint clinical and developmental Ph.D., she is qualified to treat individuals at all stages of life. She works with issues ranging from high functioning autism spectrum disorder (formerly Asperger’s Syndrome), to women’s issues, end of life issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depressive and anxiety disorders, ADD/ADHD, and couples & family therapy. Dr. Giovannelli also conducts psychological testing, with a specialty in diagnosing autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Knighton is a psychology post-doctoral resident with over a decade of experience working with culturally diverse clients in residential and correctional settings, community mental health and private practice. Her clinical interests involve the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using evidence-based practices. She conceptualizes cases from cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and family systems perspectives. She specializes in working with the following presenting situations: suicidality/grief/loss, depression, trauma, sexual abuse, sexual offending behaviors, forensic issues, substance use disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).
